IRINA FILOVA

Born in Russia in 1970, her talent and love for embroidery was inherited from her grandmother. For many years art and creativity accompanied her. For a long time, aesthetics and beauty nurtured in her a subtle perception of beauty.

A new wave of life changed her course and country and now Irina creates unique paintings on interior items, clothing, creating her unique and recognizable handwriting. The embroidery artist is at the beginning of her creative path and career, she works with natural materials: threads, using modern embroidery techniques.

Her works are in private collection in Russia, Italy, Malta and USA.

I have always loved creating with my hands and creating magic. Imagine a needle and thread, and they are not just tools, they are something that creates sound and beauty at the same time. One thread stretches and intertwines with the other, combining, complementing it. My embroidered works have a special effect on people: some admire them, others run their hands over the embroidered cloth, and others lightly touch their fingertips to immerse themselves in the depth and volume of the pattern. I think through the images, draw the elements and connect the details to make the whole composition sound like a single orchestra. Embroidery is painstaking, labor-intensive work. The new project was inspired by Van Gogh. Why him?

His strokes on his paintings look like embroidery. Kilometers of colored threads, a dishonorable number of hours for painstaking work, needle pricked fingers, but finishing embroidery, I forget all this. Looking at the details of the finished work I saw how interestingly intertwined threads and created a new color, as the artist mixes paints. And now I am looking at the living eyes of Van Gogh. Isn't that magic? I researched his life for a long time and inspired by his work through detailed and painstaking work I conveyed the warmth of threads, depth of detail and love for the artist's work. His paintings are full of nature, colors and interesting subjects. He also liked to write the shoes of ordinary people, tired after a hard day.
