Barbara Segal’s new book of poetry, shelter, brings images rich in nature to the feelings and experiences of her life in the fall, winter, and spring of 2019-2020. Written in a meditative, straight-forward style, there is throughout this extended poem a quiet connection to the deep beauty of our world.
Barbara Segal is a prize-winning poet and artist deeply influenced by the mystical worlds of nature and spirit. Her poems are published in numerous journals and anthologies, including Oberon, Mobius, Paumanok:Transition, Corona, Long Island Sounds, Long Island Quarterly, Bard’s Annual, NCPL Review, the online daily Haikuniverse, and both the PPA Review and PPA Haiku Contest for each of which she was three times a first-prize winner. Her first chapbook, The Secret Road: Walking with Persephone was published by Finishing Line Press. She lives with her husband, author Michael Sears, and their quirky cat, Penelope, in our beautiful village of Sea Cliff.
